Tom DeLonge Left Blink-182 to Investigate UFOs

While Blink 182 are busy getting ready to release their seventh full-length album, California, ex-band-mate Tom Delonge is busy doing his own thing. His own thing just happens to involve investigating UFOs.

In a recent interview with Mic, Tom explained that he is now launching a “multimedia franchise” by the name of Sekret Machines. Including both fiction and non-fiction books, new music from DeLonge’s band Angels & Airwaves as well as a (surely enlightening and/or WTF) documentary all aimed at investigating “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” it has us all…

Although this could seem like a gimmick, Tom is apparently 100% serious about the endeavor with the first book from the franchise, Sekret Machines Book 1: Chasing Shadows (“Praised as ‘an exhilarating thrill ride’ that may never have you looking at the night sky the same way again”), already available for those of you who are interested in aliens or just want to see what the hell is going on instead the head of the once-pop-punk star.

I’ve always had a passion for space and the future. But when you dive into this type of material, it’s a lot more than just science and technology. It has to do with religion and cosmology and it has to do with politics and secrecy. So it’s a pretty fantastic ride when you start studying this stuff. You’ll find yourself trying to challenge your belief system. This project was a good way to bring it to the world in a more elevated way.

It may same a little far-out now, but when Tom Delonge becomes the first human to contact lifeforms from another planet…well, it could happen.
