This Family Is Honoring Prince With 10,000 Purple Holiday Lights Flashing to Music

I’m always up for Griswold-ing a house when the holidays roll around, but this year, one Minnesota family felt like creating a special theme for their display. It’s all about Prince and it’s wild.

The display, which of course blinks in time to “Purple Rain,” is made up of 10,000 purple lights that create a two-minute light show dedicated to the beloved singer who passed away in April.

The family’s description explains, “Our show is 5 minutes from Prince’s Paisley Park recording studio and residence. And his passing this year greatly affected our local community. So we decided to honor the great Purple One with a short and simple display during the intermission of our Christmas light show… R.I.P. Prince – we all miss you.”
