#SelfieArt Is the New Self Portrait

Artists have been creating self-portraits for as long as art itself has existed. But nowadays, #selfieart is giving artists and “non-artists” alike the chance to capture their own image in ways that are both experimental and expressive.

Though there’s debate around the validity of selfies as art, some exhibitions are even now embracing it as part of the artistic experience (e.g. Yayoi Kusama’s “Infinity Mirrors”).
