National Galleries of Scotland Is Putting Their Entire Collection Online

Get ready to take a tour of everything the National Galleries of Scotland has to offer. Following other galleries and institutions, like New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Edinburgh- based NGS is currently in the process of digitizing its 94,000 piece collection.

Relaunching their website earlier this month, the NGS — which includes the Scottish National Gallery, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery — revealed that they had added approximately 40,000 images to their online datebase with the intention of having their full collection online within the next five years (although their search already lists 95,475 pieces… *shrugs*).

Take a peek at a few examples of art from the National Galleries of Scotland below before checking out their online collection.
