Frida Kahlo Emoji Now Exist Because the World Definitely Needs FridaMoji

Frida Kahlo’s work remains as popular today among art-lovers as emoji are with text message-loving folks. That’s why it totally makes sense to combine the two. Hitting the App Store last month (sorry, Android users, it’s not available for you yet), the set of 160 FridaMoji take inspiration from the artist herself as well as images from her most iconic pieces.

“Frida was just perfect for the project,” says Sam Cantor, the Los Angeles-based gallerist and graphic designer who created FridaMoji. “She conveyed her emotions so honestly and openly in her work. What better artist to translate into emoji, which we use to express emotion today?”
