Ania Catherine is a dance artist, choreographer, and creative movement director based in Los Angeles.
She has over 19 years of training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, tap, and modern dance. She studied at several studios throughout the Southern California area as well as with the Joffrey Ballet through their Summer Intensive Program.
Her dance education eventually led her to the College of Performing Arts at Chapman University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012. Ania’s award-winning choreography has been shown internationally in theatres, competitions, art galleries, fashion adverts, music videos, as well as dance films.
Having spent a year in London for her postgraduate studies, Ania participated in a performance collaboration at Tate Modern, performed a self-choreographed solo at the Peacock Theatre, and choreographed a fashion film featuring the work of hat designer Philip Treacy.
In 2014, Ania was featured in the Huffington Post for a video art piece she performed in and co-directed called “cloth.” Her work has screened at the British Film Institute, the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles, the DanceLive Festival of Contemporary Dance in Scotland, and at festivals in France, Canada, Belgium, England, Italy, Spain, Russia, Denmark, and Argentina.
