Art from Hakim Boulouiz (@hakimboulouiz) / Geneva, Switzerland
From Hakim Boulouiz:
The name of my street photography serie is : Wax DollsSynopsis: Cities are growing day after day. Life is being transformed and accelerated in the middle of modernity. In this context, the urban body is vibrating and experimenting with new adventures. It sneaks between advertising, windows, showcases, colors, prints, shadows and lights. The urban body is reflected and conditioned through architecture. It becomes an object that looks like a wax doll. With my concept, I wanted to stop on this fake figure of the humain being by the photographic act. My vision doesn’t show smooth postcard pictures, because for me the image of a contemporary city has become a puzzle game.
Hakim Boulouiz is a Swiss Photographer and Expert in Urban aesthetics with a multidisciplinary training. He is a big lover of cities looking to tell stories. After receiving a diploma in Architecture, a diploma in Filmmaking, he completed a PhD about the relationship between urban modernity and the art of shirt films. He is fascinated by order and disorder, by fullness and emptiness, by spaces and dressing it up in light and shadow. Hakim has won several international photography awards. Today he is active in street photography around the world.
